“爵士”快递
从早年我们宣称的“在工厂里搞音乐”、“把音乐节当作一件作品来做”，到时下流行的“Livehouse是一种生活方式”之类的表达，与我们长期共生的这些旧厂房，尽管已经受够了这些标语和口号，至今仍然不为所动。
而爵士乐，一直以来也被我们刻意泛化地解读了，只摘取与其在精神上的某些共通性，也就是我们常常挂在嘴边的，要“自由”、“艺术”地表达——以证明我们未曾偏离航道。
无法否认，这是一个借口，也是一条通向艺术的秘密通道，它融汇了各种音乐门类的边界，是一片孤寂的、仅供那些不甘于传统的弄潮儿们游戏和欢聚的乐土。
不能忘记的是，这片乐土最初是由一群勇敢的前辈们所开拓的：无论我们多不情愿，他们都已经或者将要成为符号和肖像，永远地烙印在我们的生命经验之中。
十年微不足道，三年转瞬即逝，是时候寄出这封贴满标签和暗语，且收件人不详的“爵士”快递了。

从 Dirty Beaches、Last Lizard、Love Theme 到 Alex Zhang Hungtai，张洪泰的音乐就如同他不同时期的艺名一样持续蜕变。2019 年，他与落日飞车的国国合作、录制了实验专辑《龙港》（LONGONE ）并于隔年发行，而张洪泰参与翻玩侯孝贤执导电影《千禧曼波》之主题曲的合辑《单纯的人》也在同年推出，令人不禁回头温习他的过往作品，也得以用不同的聆听角度感受他现今的音乐形态。
在 2014 年结束个人项目 Dirty Beaches 之后，张洪泰将重心转移至作曲家这一新身份上，并专注于即兴音乐与自由爵士的创作。在新作品中，他主要使用萨克斯、合成器和打击乐，进一步探索音乐的流动边界。
After retiring his project Dirty Beaches, Alex Zhang Hungtai has been focusing on explorations of improvised music, free jazz, and his new role as a composer. His newer compositions predominantly work with saxophone, synthesizers, and percussion, furthering his research on music of liminality.

Guitarist, composer, improviser and music educator Miroslav Tadić has performed and recorded in a wide variety of settings and musical styles. The centerpiece of Tadić's solo program is his large and continuously evolving suite Laments, Dances and Lullabies. Based around a great variety of songs and dances from the entire Balkan region, the suite serves as a perfect vehicle for Tadić, in which he navigates through the written and improvised parts of the suite relying on his rich musical background which includes classical, jazz, blues and flamenco traditions.

The Golden Sea 二重奏由 Kahil El'Zabar 和 David Murray 这两位声名显赫的音乐家组成，他们之间深刻的音乐交流与合作已经持续了超过四十年。
打击乐演奏家 Kahil El'Zabar 自 70 年代以来就一直活跃于前卫爵士乐场景最前沿，被认为是灵性律动和非洲中心爵士乐的先驱，曾与 Pharoah Sanders、Archie Shepp、Billy Bang、Lester Bowie、Nina Simone 和 Stevie Wonder 等重量级人物一起录制和表演。

The profound musical exchange and collaboration between musicians Kahil El'Zabar and David Murray of the Golden Sea Duo have been ongoing for over forty years.
Multi-percussionist Kahil El'Zabar has been at the forefront of the avant-garde jazz scene since the 70s. Considered the pioneer of spiritual groove and Afrocentric jazz, El'Zabar has recorded & performed with heavyweights such as Pharoah Sanders, Archie Shepp, Billy Bang, Lester Bowie, Nina Simone and Stevie Wonder, to name a few.
David Murray is considered the most influential tenor saxophonist of his generation. He is the co-founder of the World Saxophone Quartet, a Grammy Award winner and is a prestigious recipient of the Jazzpar Prize of Denmark. He has recorded more than 250 albums in his career.

作为为数不多仍在世的日本第一代自由即兴先驱之一，丰住芳三郎自 60 年代以来始终以饱满的状态活跃于国际舞台。在许多乐迷心中，他是传奇，曾与包括高柳昌行和阿部熏在内的日本自由爵士巨匠一起演奏并留下了许多经典唱片；他也是美国前卫音乐家协会 AACM 的唯一非美籍成员，与众多国际一线即兴音乐演奏家有过合作，如 Han Bennink、Peter Brötzmann 和 Derek Bailey 等。“在他的演奏里，我们能感受到‘自然’的深意。他轻松地化解了风格、门派、技巧带给人的困惑，使音乐更加自由。丰住向我们展示的，是一种抛弃了世俗的‘天真’。”（涂飞）
老丹，吹管二十余载，音乐启蒙于萨克斯，后专业学习中国竹笛。他不断探索着这两种乐器的艺术表达极限，以其独特的创作⽅式表达着传统⾳乐惯例中少见的⾃由和活⼒。他的即兴与创作经常给观众带来强烈的听觉体验，萨克斯负责喷火，竹笛勾人心魄，呈现东⽅与⻄⽅、古代与现代之间的声⾳碰撞。近年来，老丹频繁与世界各地的音乐家进行交流与合作。2020 年与 2022 年，英国前卫⾳乐杂志 The Wire、法国前卫⾳乐杂志 Revue & Corrigée 分别对⽼丹进⾏了⻓篇专访报道。

Sabu Toyozumi is one of the first-generation musical pioneers playing free improvisation music in Japan. As an improvising drummer, he played and recorded with many of the key figures in Japanese free music from the late 1960s onwards. He is one of a very few of this circle who are still alive and engaged in playing this music today.
Dizi (Chinese bamboo flute) and Saxophone are the main vehicles of Lao Dan's music. He continuously explores the limitation of artistic expression of these two instruments, leading to a uniquely creative freedom and dynamic unseen in traditional music. To audiences, his improvisations and compositions often bring intense aural experience and impacts between the East and the West, the ancient and the modern.

仅仅是“拥抱变化”或许还不足以用来描述 MOVE —— 他们始终迫切而炽烈地渴求着变化。
直接、果断、随时迸发的即兴，是这个来自巴西和葡萄牙的三人组通过音乐连结在一起时最自在的状态。三位音乐家很早就开始频繁合作，出于对彼此创造力的坚定认可，最终于 2022 年成立了乐队，并于今年 4 月发表了首张专辑 The City 。MOVE 的音乐在风格上没有限制，仿佛追寻着一种独特的动态，并在那之中试探着相互作用和交流的极限。
MOVE has an urgency for movement, where change is not only inevitable, but burningly wished for. From a sense of interconnectivity sprouts a direct, decisive and ready-made improvisation. With a legacy of intense collaborations between its members, MOVE was born in 2022, between Sintra and Lisbon, and their debut album The City was released in April of 2023. Characterized by perceptive and incisive construction, MOVE's music knows no stylistic limits, searching for a unique dynamic that explores the limits of interplay and communication.

Steve Noble
Steve Noble is London's leading drummer, a fearless and constantly inventive improviser with super-precise, ultra-propulsive and hyper-detailed playing. He studied with Nigeria master drummer Elkan Ogunde and over the last 20 years has worked in a variety of musical contexts and has been extensively involved in improvised music through work with a wide range of musicians.
Alex Ward's diverse musical activities since the early '90s have straddled the worlds of free improvisation, contemporary composition and avant rock, and have seen him collaborate with such significant musical figures as Derek Bailey, Thuston Moore and Evan Parker. In 2021 he became a member of the legendary band Pere Ubu, and his work as a composer/bandleader has encompassed his own ensembles alongside many collaborative projects, while thriving as solo player on clarinet and guitar.

作为享誉世界的日本大师级鼓手，森山威男始终从心而活。60 年代末，作为东京艺术大学打击乐系的学生，他从古典音乐教育中“叛逃”，纵身投入自由爵士。他加入了后来惊艳欧洲的山下洋辅三重奏，并发展出一套自己独特的演奏技法和风格。而正当乐队事业如日中天之际，他却选择了退出，去探寻新的激情与意义。后来，他组建了自己的四重奏，成员数度变化，其中包括贝斯手望月英明，萨克斯手高桥知己、小田切一巳、滕原干典，以及分别在不同时期担任乐队主创的钢琴手板桥文夫和萨克斯手井上淑彦。
此次的“无钢琴四重奏”，是森山先生特别为本届 OCT-LOFT 国际爵士音乐节组建的全新乐队。带着赤子之心，直击灵魂！
While in school, Moriyama began to participate in jazz sessions, and became close friends with Yosuke Yamashita. In the late 1960s, he became the drummer of the newly formed Yosuke Yamashita Trio. He culminated his distinct form of free jazz and had three wildly successful European tours with raving reviews.
This project is the Pianoless Quartet that Moriyama specially collects for the OCT-LOFT Jazz Festival.

由讲者 Markus Müller 编著的 FMP: The Living Music 一书，记录了厂牌一路走来的点点滴滴。基于与两位创始人在共事的超过三十年时间里的无数对话，Müller 在书中讲述了这个最初由音乐家自行发起、自行决策的纯粹组织如何成功在国际网络中成功运营超过40年的故事。
Free Music Production (FMP) was initiated by German musicians Peter Brötzmann and Jost Gebers in the late 1960s. It has produced a number of influential records in the field of contemporary improvised music and become one of the most important record labels for European free jazz music.
FMP: The Living Music is a book by Markus Müller dedicated to the history of the music label. Based on many conversations from over thirty years with the key protagonists, Markus Müller tells the success story of a musicians' initiative that emerged in the context of the 1968 ideas of self-organization and self-determination and worked successfully in an international network for over 40 years.

The filmmakers René Jeucken, Thomas Mau and Grischa Windus follow in the footsteps of Peter Brötzmann, from his backyard studio in Wuppertal, to the winding alleyways of the colorful, poverty-stricken London district of Hackney. On the occasion of his 70th birthday, Peter Brötzmann's eleven-member Chicago Tentet is touring Europe and the Middle East: the big Jubilee concerts, 53 years after the radical anti-concept album Machine Gun, are still stirring. And while the world-famous saxophonist talks about old friends, new images and freedom, colleagues, journalists and bar owners tell of their very own memories of the uncompromising pioneer of free jazz, his fascinating inspiration and his long cigars.
