Shanghai's First British-Themed Restaurant Mr Harry Closes
By Lauren Hogan
Bid bon voyage to your black puddings and baked beans. Coming shortly after the announced closure of UK supershop Marks & Sparks, and the even more recent closure of Amelia's new location on Julu, 'Shanghai's first authentic British restaurant' (and Rick Stein recommended), Mr. Harry has announced they too will be shutting up shop.
But all is not lost.
According to the owner (yes, the Mr. Harry), the establishment will be relocating to Jinshan (aka the far outreaches of the beachier side of Shanghai), where he'll be moving to pursue a career in the sports agency biz alongside Le Baron's bouncer Sammy.
Interesting transition. We look forward to hearing more on the new venture(s). Perhaps fish and chips by the seaside?
For those who hadn't managed to make it in before the closure, have a look at what you missed out on through the eyes (er mouth?) of ex-England and British and Irish Lion rugby international star John Bentley.
