International Scholarship Programme


The Aga Khan Foundation provides a limited number of scholarships each year for postgraduate studies to outstanding students from select developing countries who have no other means of financing their studies, in order to develop effective scholars and leaders and to prepare them for employment, primarily within the AKDN. The Foundation accepts applications who are under 30 years old from nationals of the following countries: Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Syria, Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Madagascar and Mozambique.

Rachel Tanur Memorial Prize for Visual Sociology


The Asian Development Bank/Japan Scholarship Program (JSP) offers about 150 postgraduate scholarships a year for studies in economics, management, science and technology, and other development-related fields at participating academic institutions. The program is open to those who have gained admission to an approved MA/PhD course at a participating academic institution. Also, the scholarships are available for applicants who originally from certain countries, check the detail in the website.

Mellon/ACLS Public Fellows Competition for Recent PhDs

The program will place up to 25 recent PhDs from the humanities and humanistic social sciences in two-year term staff positions at partnering organizations in government and the nonprofit sector. Fellows will participate in the substantive work of these organizations and receive professional mentoring. Fellows receive a stipend of $67,500 per year, individual health insurance, a relocation allowance, and up to $3,000 to be used toward professional development activities over the course of the fellowship term. Applicants must possess US citizenship or permanent resident status.

Mellon/ACLS Community College Faculty Fellowships

Mellon/ACLS Community College Faculty Fellowships are tailored to the circumstances of humanities and social science faculty who teach at two-year institutions and are intended to support their research ambitions. Community college faculty in all disciplines of the humanities and related social sciences are welcome to apply.

Summer Institute in Behavioral Economics

The Russell Sage Foundation will sponsor the thirteenth Summer Institute in Behavioral Economics, to be held in Waterville Valley, New Hampshire. The purpose of this workshop is to introduce graduate students and beginning faculty in economics and related disciplines to the findings and methods of behavioral economics—the application of psychological theory and research to economics. The program will include topics on psychological foundations such as decision-making under risk and uncertainty, intertemporal choice, biases in judgment, mental accounting, and social preferences, as well as the implications of these foundations for savings behavior, labor markets, development economics, finance, public policy, and other economic topics.

International Affairs Fellowship (IAF) in International Economics 


The International Affairs Fellowship (IAF) in International Economics, sponsored by Kimberly Querrey offers business economists as well as university-based economics scholars hands-on experience in the U.S. government to expand their range of thinking and work on international economic policy. Possible host placements for the twelve month fellowship appointment include but are not limited to the U.S. Department of the Treasury, U.S. Department of Commerce, and relevant parts of the U.S. Department of State and the White House. Applicants must be U.S. citizens.
