Job Description

Candidates with expertise in the following areas: Computer-aided Translation and Translation Technology, Translation localization, Chinese-English Practical Translation, Putonghua-English Interpreting.

Job Requirement

Candidates should have a PhD degree or a Master degree with extensive working experience in a related discipline. Successful candidates are expected to be committed to excellence in undergraduate or postgraduate teaching and research.Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrable ability to undertake independent research leading to outcomes with a strong impact, such as publication in high quality, internationally recognized, indexed journals and scholarly presses. Academic rank will be determined in accordance with successful candidate’s experience and accomplishments. Candidates who have teaching and industrial experience in translation technology, localization, translation project management, interpreting and practical translation are to be favorably considered.

Job Requirement
Applicants should possess a PhD degree in a related discipline and should be committed to excellence in undergraduate teaching and project supervision. Candidates should also ideally have a track record in scholarly publications and the potential to develop this further. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrable ability to undertake independent research leading to outcomes with a strong impact, such as publication in high quality, internationally recognized, indexed journals and scholarly presses.

Benefits and Appointment Terms

Commencing salaries will be commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience. Fringe benefits include housing allowance, leave and social insurance. Appointment to this position will initially be made on a fixed-term contract with mutual agreement.
