Yet Another Person Throws Coins at a Plane Engine in China

It happened again.

On Tuesday, April 2, a man was caught on camera throwing coins towards the engine of a plane, according to Sina News. The man was spotted by a security staff member tossing the coins in the direction of the plane engine as he boarded his flight at Wuhan Tianhe International Airport in Hubei province. He threw three coins, which were all recovered by airport staff.

Watch below to see the man stealthily toss the coins where they have no business going:

While we’ve so often questioned the motive behind people who carry out these senseless acts, this man was apparently just following his mother’s orders.

According to a video by Passion News, the clueless passenger threw the coins at the engine because his mother told him that it would bring ‘luck’ or a ‘blessing’ (祈福) for his daughter’s first flight; however, the move was rather unlucky for the rest of the passengers as the flight to Urumqi was delayed for 30 minutes.

A plane in Anhui province was delayed for over 16 hours in February after a young man did the same damn thing.

The culprit behind this latest coin throwing debacle will be detained for 10 days.
