Wenzhou University(温州大学)

Wenzhou University is the only comprehensive teaching and research university in southern Zhejiang Province, northern Fujian Province and eastern Jiangxi Province. It is located in Wenzhou City, a famous historical and cultural city in China and a pioneer area of reform and opening up. Founded in 2004 by the merger of Wenzhou Normal College and the former Wenzhou University, the school has a history of 89 years.

Wenzhou University has formed a multi-level and multi-form educational structure, including undergraduate education, postgraduate education, continuing education, international student education and international cooperative education. The school covers 12 disciplines, including philosophy, economics, law, education, literature, history, Science, engineering, medicine, management, arts, and interdisciplinary subjects. There are 20 professional schools and honor colleges, namely Su Buqing College. In 2011, Wenzhou Kean University was founded in cooperation with Kean University in the United States. In 2016, City College of Wenzhou University was transformed into Wenzhou Business College, and in 2021, Oujiang College of Wenzhou University was transformed into Wenzhou Institute of Technology.

The university now has two campuses, Chashan and Xueyuan Road, with a total enrollment of 22,981 full-time students. The university covers an area of 1,973.43 mu with a floor space of 1,060,600 square meters. The total value of its teaching and research equipment is 961 million yuan.

The teaching staff is strong. The university currently has 2231 staff members, among whom 1416 are full-time teachers (939 with doctorates, accounting for 66.31%). There are 33 national-level talents including full-time academicians, candidates of the national "Ten Thousand Talents Plan", candidates of the National Talent Introduction Plan, Changjiang Scholars, National elite youth, national young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions, national-level candidates of the national "Ten Million Talents Project", national outstanding youth, cultural masters of the Propaganda Department of the CPC Central Committee and "Four First Batch" talents, and 180 high-level selected talents at or above the provincial level. It has been approved as the national demonstration base for attracting talents and talents.

Remarkable achievements have been made in discipline construction. The university has 1 doctorate program in first-level disciplines, 18 master degree programs in first-level disciplines and 17 professional master degree programs. Zhejiang Province postdoctoral workstation, and 24 well-known universities and scientific research institutions at home and abroad jointly train doctor, postdoctoral. Ecology is one of the most advantageous and characteristic disciplines in Zhejiang Province. Nine disciplines, including Chemistry, Chinese Language and Literature, Electrical engineering, Law, Marxist Theory, Applied Economics, mechanical engineering, ecology and civil engineering, are first-class disciplines in Zhejiang Province. Four disciplines, namely chemistry, materials science, engineering and computer science, have entered the top 1% of ESI in the world.
